KOTA KINABALU: A local suspect was nabbed by Police for armed robbery as a manhunt was launched to track down his accomplice. District police chief Assistant Commissioner M. Chandra said the 23-year-old suspect was arrested some 15 hours after he was believed to be involved in a 2.30am armed robbery in a hotel at Gaya Street here on June 28. The suspect then fled the scene with RM1,163 cash in a waiting Proton Saga vehicle driven by his accomplice. A raid at unnumbered house at Kampung Unggun Jaya in Menggatal was conducted by the police at 5.30pm on the same day said Chandra. “Police are currently looking for the second suspect identified as Shawal Haizam bin Shamsuddin @ Boy, 37, also from Kampung Unggun Jaya who is the main suspect in the arm-robbery case.
