The incident took place at Polo Ground area, under Kotwali police station in the port city, around 11:30pm on Sunday. The deceased is Md Monsur, 40, accused in four mugging cases lodged with different police stations in the city. Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, Kotwali police station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Mohsin said: "A mugger targeted passengers on CNG-run auto-rickshaws. The on-duty doctor declared him dead after he was brought to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, said the OC.
