Roads to Long Thanh airport project in southern Vietnam built at snail’s pace
According to the Ministry of Transport, the first phase of the Long Thanh International Airport project commenced in early 2021, with three out of four components being developed as scheduled. The expansion is an important solution to meet forecast travel demand once Long Thanh International Airport is on stream. The route is often congested, especially during holidays, although Long Thanh International Airport has yet to be put into operation. The passenger terminal of the Long Thanh International Airport project is set for completion at the end of 2026. The first phase of the Long Thanh International Airport project is expected to cost VND110 trillion (US$4.3 billion).
