Rajeev Puthalath, Secretary, Kerala Road Safety Authority, said the State could reduce road accidents and fatalities by 10% for the first 10 months in 2017. Still, Mr. Puthalath said, the State could reduce fatalities by 6.5% and road accidents by 2.5% in 2017 compared to the previous year. Intensive enforcement and awareness drives are needed to halve road accidents and fatalities by 2020 and ensure road discipline,” the road safety expert points out.
