BNP had nominated its Standing Committee Member, Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, president of the party’s Malaysian chapter, for Chandpur 1 instead of Milon. Later, the activists locked down the main entrance, with a number of BNP leaders, including Rizvi, trapped inside. They also took their grievance to Rizvi and expressed their anger as party leader Mosharraf Hossain was given approval from BNP for Chandpur-1 instead of Milon, currently in jail. At the press conference, Rizvi hoped their chairperson's nomination will be announced valid by the Election Commission after the appeal hearing. He also called upon the commission to take steps for ensuring a level-playing field and stopping the arrest of opposition leaders and activists.
