He remarked this on Sunday—a day after the commission rejected all three of her appeals to accept her nominations. “BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's nomination has been rejected on government orders,” Rizvi told a press briefing at the party’s Naya Paltan headquarters. Her nominations were rejected by returning officers, during the period for scrutiny, because of her convictions in graft cases. The senior BNP leader demanded the immediate release of all arrested party leaders and activists.
