Green Island had Josh Hook starting in goals, replacing the suspended Christian Firth, and star player Matt Brazier was heavily bandaged. Green Island responded in the opening minutes of the second half when Cam Anderson broke forward. In the ensuing melee Green Island was lucky to have 11 players remain on the pitch. The game opened up as Green Island searched for an equaliser.
