Riverside Market's lockdown food delivery service still in high demand

The Creperie owner Andrey Lukonin started the business in his garage and is now serving hundreds of crepes every week at Christchurch's Riverside Market. Riverside Market Box allows people to customise a box of fresh produce from the various shops inside the popular central Christchurch market. Riverside Market co-owner Kris Inglis said the idea of a delivery service at the central city market had always been “ticking away in the background”, but lockdown kicked it into action. Inglis said the point of difference to other meal delivery services was that the food was packed and delivered on the same day. Meal kit delivery service Woop has also “experienced substantial growth” and created 50 new jobs in 2020, chief executive Thomas Dietz said.
