The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Professor Ngozi Odu, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress. Odu’s defection comes more than a month after Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the majority of state and federal lawmakers from Rivers State left the PDP for the APC. She also urged residents of the area to demonstrate their support for President Bola Tinubu and the governor by registering massively with the APC. They said wherever I go, they will go with me; and wherever Governor Fubara and President Tinubu go, they will go. Odu described the development as a boost to the APC strength in the LGA, adding that it is a sign of increasing grassroots alignment with the leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Fubara.
