According to reports, the victim’s bike hit a boulder on the section of this road near Perungudi MRTS station and he fell into a nearby pond. The road provides a shortcut to motorists from Pallikaranai and GST Road to reach the offices on MGR Salai and Old Mahabalipuram Road. Once completed, motorists can skip the 100-feet Taramani-Velachery Road and use this link road. Until a few months ago, cement boulders were seen placed at the beginning of the Link Road at MGR Salai. Police personnel from Taramani station say they often patrol the place around the station but the Corporation has to install speed breakers.
