Rishi Sunak announces UK foreign aid budget will be SLASHED

The Government was rocked by the resignation of Foreign Office minister Baroness Sugg this afternoon as she quit in protest over Rishi Sunak's decision to slash the UK's foreign aid budget. But Mr Sunak used today's Spending Review to announce the aid budget will be temporarily reduced from next year. Baroness Sugg announced her resignation from the Government a matter of hours after Mr Sunak delivered his address. Labour slammed the move as the shadow chancellor Anneliese Dodds accused Mr Sunak of 'turning his back on the world's poorest' people. However, it was welcomed by Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage who tweeted: 'At last we have a Conservative Chancellor that understands Conservative voters on foreign aid.'
