The former Manchester United defender announced back in September his plans to step into the ring, following a successful career in football. He also revealed that he was hoping to be granted a boxing licence for a professional fight in 2018, but it seems he was unable to secure one. Ferdinand works as a presenter for BT Sport, where he provides analysis on Premier League and Champions League matches.
