A Rimutaka prisoner is on day 30 of a hunger strike as he tries to get a New Zealand constitution in order to restore the mana of the Treaty of Waitangi. New Zealand, United Kingdom, and Israel are the only three countries without a formal written constitution, a document overarching day-to-day legislation. During a previous prison term in 2020 he did another hunger strike over Māori sovereignty.
