To the Editor:A recent study by CNN Business found that minimum wage earners can’t afford rent anywhere in America. The economic stress the vast majority of the country struggles with on a daily basis (evidenced by this study) is fueling the current anti-democratic fervor and is clearly unsustainable. It’s also a major contributor to the mental illness and violence that pervades many of our cities and towns. Brotherly Love is hard to feel when you fear you might be living on the street next month. It’s like apartheid -- the minority lording over the majority -- and we all know how that worked out.
