Several of the ride-sharing services that operate in Dhaka city have announced that they will not be operating on Thursday. Pathao, Bahon and MUV, which are bike and car sharing services, have sent messages to their clients saying there will be no service during the day. Police set up check posts around the city on Tuesday night and has been stopping and searching vehicles and pedestrians non-stop. Additional police personnel were deployed on Wednesday along with Rapid Action Battalion and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) forces and security was tightened at government establishments. Pathao and MUV cited no reasons for their suspension of service and Bahon claimed it was app maintenance.
