Toronto residents are walking, running and cycling in the rain on the Don Valley Parkway and Gardiner Expressway on Sunday as part of the Becel Heart and Stroke Ride for Heart. This year's goal is to raise $6.5 million in support of heart disease research. Organizers say researchers across Canada are working on treatments designed to save lives and improve the recovery of heart disease survivors. As a result of the event, the Don Valley Parkway is closed between York Mills Road and the Gardiner Expressway, and the Gardiner Expressway is closed from South Kingsway to the Don Valley Parkway. Police have warned motorists to expect delays in the downtown core due to these closures.
