Behind a 60-year-old box truck hauler was a familiar Richard Petty race car being loaded up at Joey Arrington’s Speedway Service Center on Commonwealth Boulevard, and it wasn’t just any old Petty race car either. “Buddy bought both the truck and the car from Petty and this is the car that Richard drove when he won his first Daytona 500,” said Arrington Enterprises Spokesperson Danny Turner. “The seventh one is right here.”Joey Arrington is Buddy’s son and he inherited the car and hauler when Buddy died. This weekend, race fans at North Wilkesboro will be treated to an extra special bit of Richard Petty history — courtesy of the Arrington’s from Martinsville.
