Richard Keys hinted that Sky Sports treated himself and Jamie Carragher differently as he was welcomed back “as a hero” after spitting towards a 14-year-old girl. Keys left Sky in 2011 along with punditry partner Andy Gray amid a sexism storm as they were both heard discussing off-air, the appointment of Sian Massey-Ellis as an official for a Premier League match, stating that “women don't know the offside rule”. The 62-year-old presenter accepts that his conduct was sexist but believes this sort of discourse takes place in the studio and the dressing room. He then took a swipe at his former employers over their decision to retain Carragher even though he was filmed spitting at a football fan and his daughter from his car window last year.
