The President of the Association of Retired Police Officers of Nigeria, Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Stephen Aiyewumi, (retd), described the new National Security Adviser to the President, Nuhu Ribadu, as fit and qualified for the post. The PUNCH reports Ribadu, a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police was appointed by President Bola Tinubu on June 19, 2023. Aiyewumi said Ribadu was worth the position without a military background, adding that his achievements as the former boss of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission were laudable. When given an assignment, he has always been committed to the success of the assignment.”Speaking on his expectations from the NSA, the ARPON president urged Ribadu to be more committed to the service. He should be more committed to service.”Ribadu, the pioneer chairman of EFCC, was appointed to the role by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
