Americans are getting ready for a vacation as summer arrives — and now researchers are recommending that travelers avoid Rhode Island, naming it the worst state in which to take a road trip. In a survey done by WalletHub, all 50 states were ranked on 32 metrics, such as cost, safety and activities, to determine the best and worst states to travel to. Rhode Island came in dead last on average and was named the worst state for activities. Accompanying Rhode Island for the worst states to travel to were Delaware, Connecticut, Hawaii and Montana. The survey also catered to campers and hikers by ranking the best and worst states for camping and national parks.
