BRADENTON, Fla. — Gio Reyna scored on a free kick for his sixth goal of the tournament, and the United States beat Canada 4-0 Tuesday night to reach the final of the CONCACAF Under-17 Championship. Reyna, a son of former U.S. national team captain Claudio Reyna, was fouled by Simon Colyn just outside the penalty area and converted his free kick in the 63rd. The Americans play Mexico in Thursday’s final. El Tri beat Haiti 1-0 in Thursday’s other semifinal on a 49th-minute goal by Efrain Alvarez of Major League Soccer’s LA Galaxy. By defeating Panama in a quarterfinal last weekend, the U.S. qualified for the Under-17 World Cup tournament in Brazil from Oct. 5-27.
