NDP leader John Horgan and the Green’s Andrew Weaver threw some heavy shade at Alberta premier Rachel Notley’s way (“Get with the program”). If the NDP could win in Alberta, went the question (and it was a good one), where could they not win? She shouldered the burden of selling to the hardest audience the “need” to earn social licence as a precondition to getting Alberta oil to world markets. That those who had made Alberta oil their chosen enemy, and the emblem of all that was wrong in the climate world, would moderate their immoderation. And, the unkindest cut of them all, from a fellow NDP leader, soon-to-be premier, John Horgan.
