Chad Griffin, president of the Human Rights Campaign, fought back tears as he discussed the attack on an Orlando nightclub in which 50 people died and 53 were injured. “In the days to come there will be time to discuss what could have led to or even prevented this revolting tragedy. Love really does conquer hate.”Like Barack Obama in his statement on the Orlando attack earlier in the day, Griffin touched briefly on the contentious subject of gun control. “Let’s not forget that what made this hate so deadly is that it’s still far too easy for dangerous people to get their hands on guns in this country,” Griffin said. “But let’s get one thing clear, and this is what disgusts me the most about this tragedy.
