Review: Look Up! It’s Amy Schumer in ‘Meteor Shower’

I snorted at both of these weird, well-turned ripostes, and at dozens of others studded like flavor crystals throughout the blink-and-it’s-over 80-minute production. Mr. Martin is peerless at crafting tiny wit bombs, and always has been. PhotoBut unless you’re Oscar Wilde, tiny wit bombs do not make a satisfying play. Perhaps Mr. Martin is attempting Wildean social satire in “Meteor Shower”: Beneath its hard shell it is fundamentally about the vulnerability of marriage. In the postmodern fashion, the play jumps around in time, offering alternative outcomes to the evening’s confrontations.
