Marvel Studio's Captain Marvel flies into theaters riding intense buzz, critical acclaim, and the potential for yet another record-setting MCU opening. So while I fully expect Captain Marvel to overperform against expectations, lack of an overperformance doesn't translate into being an underperformance. Word of mouth will be terrific among comic book fans, Marvel fans, and the mainstream public, ensuring Captain Marvel has a massive opening and strong weekly holds. I saw Captain Marvel at its Los Angeles premiere, which is how I usually experience the Marvel releases. With Captain Marvel, Marvel Studios has created another sure-fire hit filled with blockbuster spectacle, eye-popping visuals, thrilling action, and heroes we care about and root for.
