Bryan FerryTSB Arena WellingtonMarch 5Reviewed by Colin MorrisThe opening act proved once and for all that a basically acoustic set in an acoustic-unfriendly venue is a recipe for disaster. Intimacy is totally lost as they valiantly tried to overcome obstacles not of their own making. Suddenly it's the second half, and a sprightly 73-year-old Ferry, grinning from ear to ear, immediately starts in top gear. Yet it was Jorja Chalmers who stole the show, willow thin and dressed all in black, she nailed solo after solo, moving with ease from soprano to tenor saxophone. The lounge lizard that is Mr Ferry is welcome back anytime.
