The alleged forgery of documents for the conversion of wetland at Choornikkara was nearly pulled off by the prime accused’s ability to forge Revenue Department orders. He was assisted by a Revenue Department employee, who allegedly took the forged papers inside the Land Revenue Commissionerate and stamped the fake order with the office seal of the Land Revenue Commissioner and the seal of a senior superintendent without their knowledge, according to investigators. The Aluva East police recorded the arrest of Arun, 34, of Karamana in Thiruvananthapuram, an office attendant attached to the Land Revenue Commissionerate, on Saturday. Abu approached Arun after his initial attempts to get approval for the conversion at the lower level of the Revenue Department failed. Though Abu had initially filed an application with the Land Revenue Commissioner, it evoked no response.
