THE Government has published a list of essential workers who are allowed to travel to work despite the coronavirus lockdown. Employers are being asked to refer to the guidance on the gov.ie website to decide whether their organisation is providing an essential service. They should identify employees - including sub-contractors - who are essential to the provision of that service and notify them. If employees are notified that they are essential they are permitted to travel to and from work. The list of essential workers comes this evening as 14 more people have died from the coronavirus in Ireland, taking the country’s death toll to 36.
