MANILA, Philippines — A party-list congressman urged the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) yesterday to release the results of the water tests it conducted in Boracay prior to its reopening to tourists last Friday. They cannot truly assess the safety of Boracay water by simple visual observation. Those water test results will give hard evidence,” Rep. Francisco Datol Jr. of Senior Citizens party-list said. He said the DENR should also tell the public who and which agency conducted water tests. “If authorities and businesses are unable to assure tourists and residents of faucet water safety, there must be on-site water filtration systems and more than ample supply of bottled water,” Datol said.
