During a sermon on Sunday, June 16, 2024, Rev Owusu Bempah acknowledged the country's challenging times, which have impacted the attendance of his church members, who no longer turn up in large numbers as before. He also subtly commented on the 2024 elections, criticising one of the candidates for engaging in persistent name-calling. Such people do not concentrate on what will benefit them and the country; instead, they attack others," he said. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the NPP and John Mahama of the NDC are the two frontrunners for the 2024 elections.
