Travelers returning from Hong Kong are among 31,227 people who had entered Malaysia between July 24 and September 17 and are in quarantine. As of Saturday, 22,483 who returned from 32 countries have been allowed to go home after completing the quarantine process. The returnees were sent to quarantine centres at 68 hotels and eight other premises including public training institutes and private higher education institutions in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Penang, Johor, Sarawak, Kelantan, Perak, Kedah, Perlis, Terengganu, Sabah and Labuan, the New Straits Times reports. Of the total, 8,673 are serving 14 days of mandatory quarantine, while 71 have been sent to hospitals. A total of 22,483 have been discharged and allowed to return home.
