Retirees commend Osun govt on prompt payment of pension

A faction of pensioners in Osun State, under the auspices of Triangular Group, has commended the state government for being prompt in the payment of pension and gratuity. The group also said contrary to what was obtainable in the past, payment of pension is now in full, as they dissociated themselves from the recent claim by some pensioners who protested non-payment of pension and other benefits. Speaking with newsmen on Friday in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, the leader of the group, Prince Rotimi Adelugba, refuted the claim that the state government had received and diverted the fourth tranche of the Paris Club refund, describing it as false. “The state government is very much committed to the payment of pension and gratuity of retirees in the state civil service, and the Governor Gboyega Oyetola-led administration is not nonchalant to the plight and welfare of the senior citizens of the state. Some of us have collected their bonds, contrary to the claim of the protesters.”
