The retired elementary teachers, originally from Syracuse, New York, resolved to leave the US and move to Italy for good. Now, 86 years later, he is living in Italy enjoying a better life, he says. They say they’ve cut back nearly $3,000 per month on expenses, which amounts to $36,000 a year, since moving there permanently.
