A retired couple from southern Ontario are the province’s newest lottery millionaires after winning the $23.3-million Lotto 6/49 jackpot. Robert (Bob) and Sandra Donaldson picked up their seven-figure cheque at Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation headquarters in Toronto on Wednesday. The couple from Smithville, Ont., who have been married for 36 years, say they plan to share their winnings with their family, buy a car, travel more and build a walk-in closet. Bob, who is a former manager at the Hamilton steel company Dofasco, was away in China when Sandra found out about the big win, and she didn’t tell him until he came home about a week later. In a statement released Wednesday by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, Sandra says even though her husband always plays their chosen lottery numbers, she decided to buy a Quick Pick ticket late last month.
