Eligible retailers and businesses renting government floor space are being informed of the 75 percent concessions available under relief measures announced earlier. The Chief Executive Carrie Lam announced on April 8, several measures involving more than HK$130 billion to help businesses stay afloat, keep workers in employment, and relieve financial burdens of individuals and businesses. One of the measures is to improve the rental reduction for eligible businesses and organisations renting government premises from 50 percent to 75 percent for the six-month period from April to September 2020, the government said. The scope of the 75 percent rent concession will also be expanded to benefit regulators' offices for public transport operators and advertising signboards leased by the Government Property Agency. Tenants of government premises asked to shut due to the anti-epidemic measures will even receive full rental waiver during the closure.
