Restoring broadband to Waiheke Island could take days after underwater fault found


About 40o0 homes and businesses on Waiheke Island have been cut off from the internet. Waiheke Island's 9000 residents could be without the internet for at least days, after a fibre-optic cable connecting the island was damaged. Network company Chorus said about 4000 homes and businesses on the island lost access to fibre-optic and copper broadband services at about 3pm on Monday.
