Restaurant review: Carlton Bar and Eatery, ChristchurchEwan Sargent Inside the restaurant part of the Carlton, it is cosy enough with lots of old-time influences in the décor. Ewan Sargent Steak, potatoes and sauce. Inside the Carlton, it's a modern contemporary bar-type space, with big windows, LED bar scene lighting and so on. This is one of city's few serious steak joints and the Carlton says it sources its meat locally. I was told that the Carlton Hotel's steaks were great and needed checking out.
