Southland’s ship graveyard is at Green Point in Bluff Harbour. A walkway follows the coast to the graveyard which has at least 14 small ships including the Kekeno, Dispatch, Hirere, Savaii and Sir William Wallace. Photo shows the graveyard as it was in 2006. In 1926 there was a revival of interest and a company called New Zealand Platinum Ltd was formed but it, too, went belly-up.
