Gerard QuinnThe Waitaki Whitestone Geopark Trust has had interest expressed from as far afield as Auckland in its call for trustees. The three original trustees would review applications this week, trust executive manager Gerard Quinn said. "It will be an organic process, as the recruitment of trustees needs to reflect the stage of the trust and the geopark project, the skill sets and networks required, and the team fit with other trustees. At the end of April, the ODT reported the trust withdrew its application through the New Zealand National Commission for Unesco. The trust would resubmit once the district was able to present a higher standard application to Unesco evaluators.
