ON Monday, the crisis rocking the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) assumed another dimension as the Department of State Services (DSS) reportedly ejected a factional president of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Chris Giwa, from the Glass House, the NFF headquarters in Abuja. Giwa’s ejection from the NFF headquarters, a product of the Federal Government’s flip-flopping and meddlesomeness in the affairs of the NFF, clearly underlines the oft-deplored sad state of affairs in Nigerian football. The world football governing body had threatened to impose a ban on Nigeria if the NFF crisis was not quickly resolved and Amaju Pinnick reinstated as president. The foregoing is, of course, not to suggest that the FIFA-recognised NFF president has been blameless in the current crisis. What did he hope to gain from court cases when he is the FIFA-recognised NFF president?
