Leading by two points at the break, Meath conceded a calamitous goal within 50 seconds of the restart. Liam Dempsey and Ciaran Tobin added further points for Kildare. The Royals refused to panic, with points from Potterton (two), Mullen and Vincent Ward restoring parity. Points from Dempsey closed the gap, but Sean Martin's goal made sure of victory.
