Six months ago, H51 cut service was re-introduced but only one bus plies every day at 7.30 a.m. “During rush hour, commuters have to go to Mahalakshmi Nagar bus stop or Tambaram Sanatorium bus stop,” N. Arun Kumar, a resident of Thirumagal Nagar, Chitlapakkam, says. There are a number of services including M18G (Hasthinapuram - Guduvanchery), 500A (Hasthinapuram - Chengalpattu), small buses S2 (Chromepet - Medavakkam) and S4 (Chromepet - Medavakkam, via Vellakkal) from Hasthinapuram bus terminus and Chromepet bus stop. Residents suggest that a few services of M18G and 500A could originate from Chitlapakkam bus terminus.
