Residents in the Far North are calling for their street lights to be turned back on over safety fears in the small settlement of Ohaeawai. Around four lights have been out for a month along SH1 where it intersects with SH12 in one of the north's busiest intersections. SUPPLIED/TRACEY ALBERT Lights on the right hand side of State Highway one have been off for around a month in Ohaeawai. Kaikohe-Hokianga community board member Shaun Reilly said it's irresponsible to have a SH1 intersection with no lights. "The Transport Agency apologises for any inconvenience and thanks the Ohaeawai community for their patience while the lights are fixed."
