As the sun began its slow ascent over Lopez Legacy Country Club, Eddie McLaughlin took his first shot of the day. Normally this would be an unremarkable event, no more special than any other player teeing off on any other Wednesday. It was the first shot taken on a Villages golf course since before Hurricane Irma blew through.“I was very anxious to get back out on the links,” McLaughlin said. “And knowing everyone else was just as eager, I wasn’t sure what good tee times would be available. So I decided to be the first one out there.”
