Durham University won prestigious national awards for using geothermal energy as a source of low carbon heat source. Professor Dr. Charlotte Adams has been named as Energy Champion. Dr. Adams found out that the water present in the coal mines could provide enough energy that could suffice UK for around a century. The water is pumped from underground and heat is utilized from the water before it can go into the ground again. This is undoubtly a clean reliable and renewable source of energy and UK can rely on it without any problem.
