Emergency services are responding after a driver crashed into a bridge. (File photo)A rescue helicopter has been sent to the scene of a crash near Springs Junction on the West Coast. A car had appeared to crash into the Maruia River Bridge on State Highway 65 about 1.30pm on Thursday, a Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said. A rescue helicopter was on the way, he said. It was unclear how serious any injuries were.
