Several people from flats above a Motueka building were briefly trapped when a fire broke out on Friday morning. Several people were briefly trapped on a balcony as fire engulfed a building in Motueka. A police spokesperson said emergency services responded to a building on fire on Greenwood St, Motueka that was reported about 8.25am. They were rescued after a truck parked next to the building with a ladder. A St John spokesperson said one person was taken to Nelson Hospital with moderate injuries.
