Rescue teams resumed their search for victims Monday morning, a day after a deadly tornado tore through rural southeast Alabama killing at least 23 people, including children, local officials said. The number of people still missing is in the double digits, and the death toll may rise, Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones said at a news conference Monday morning. Local hospitals are treating injuries that range from minor to very severe, he said.
