Receive via post or collect from DSBY Dinitha RathnayakeThe Registrar General’s Department commenced the issuance of copies of birth, death, and marriage certificates online yesterday (2), which can be obtained by express mail or from the nearest Divisional Secretariat (DS), the Department announced. “The public can request certificates either using their phone or computer and by making an online payment where they can receive the certificates by express post or collect them from the relevant divisional secretariat. We would serve on a first come, first serve basis. We can provide 20,000 birth, death, or marriage certificates per day where people who were born after 1960 can apply easily. “Our next plan is to issue a national birth certificate for those who were born after 2015 as the initial stage.
