Florida State is set to hire Mike Norvell of Memphis as its new coach, according to multiple reports. Norvell was coaching Memphis on Saturday afternoon when Florida State sent out its announcement advisory. The 38-year-old is 37-15 in four seasons with the school and has won at least eight games in each season. Memphis is 0-3 in bowl games under Norvell and the school would tab an interim coach to replace him if he departs for Florida State. Florida State went 6-6 in the regular season with Willie Taggart (4-5) and interim leader Odell Haggins (2-1) coaching the team.
